How to upload a CSV file
Description
The CSV Upload is a tool that allows you to input your information directly into Cortex, making your data available to explore and target on the Single Fan View or Audience Builder.
This is an additional layer of information to your existing sources and integrations. You can use it to enrich or update existing information, or create new entries for each of the modules that are supported.
In each upload, we take the fields from your CSV file and map it to each of the SFV module attributes. After loading the file, the platform will sync your data and update the information on Cortex for exploring, segmenting and targeting audiences.
The CSV Upload tool is available at https://app.cortextech.io/single-fan-view/imports.
How to: Create a new Upload
Prepare your CSV file, making sure you have the correct extension and the columns are comma-separated.
You will need a mandatory email address field, in order to match the modules' information to your users.
Also, please check any additional required fields and enforced field rules in the documentation, depending on the modules you are looking to insert new data to or update.
Login to Cortex and access the CSV Upload tool.

After pressing the “New Import” button, on the top right corner, you will be asked to drag and drop a CSV or browse a file from your computer.
The file will begin loading and after a few minutes a successful status should appear, providing the format is correct.

Map your CSV fields to each of the SFV Module’s fields. The CSV Upload tool tries to match your fields to the Modules’. However, you can also manually edit these by disabling the input field or editing the mapping by pressing the ✏️ button and selecting a custom match for your field.

Lastly, you will name your import and the upload is now done on your side.
The file is now being processed, which can take up to 3 hours to conclude, depending on the file’s size and number of requests being processed.
You will be taken back to the “Imports” list view, where you can check your entry for a successful “Imported” status. When this flag appears, that means the data was ingested into the Single Fan View and is now live.

You can then check your single fan view for any new users and updates that came through the CSV Upload tool.
